Heritage of Green Hills Offers Complete Continuum of Care with a Focus on Wellness. State-of-the-Art Care Center Now Celebrating its 1st Anniversary

Having won both the Reading Eagle’s Readers’ Choice Award and Berks County Living Best of Berks Award for an amazing seven years in a row, we’re very confident in saying that The Heritage of Green Hills is the area’s favorite senior living community. Among the many reasons for our community’s popularity is our dedication to resident health, wellness, and happiness.

As a Continuing Care Retirement Community (CCRC), we offer an active, independent lifestyle plus the peace of mind knowing that you’ll have access to more support, including personal care and memory care, if it’s ever needed, in our beautiful Care Center, which is celebrating its first anniversary.

The State-of-the-Art Care Center

The beautiful Care Center features 70 large personal care and memory care one-bedroom and studio suites. Natural light pours into its hallways through oversized windows, offering great views of the rolling hills on The Heritage’s 78-acre campus. The stunning Personal Care patio has a firepit and a peaceful water feature bringing together earth, wind, fire, and water, while the lovely Memory Care patio affords residents plenty of outdoor seating, perfect for enjoying fresh air and nature in a secure setting. The Center’s bright dining rooms offer delicious and nutritious chef-curated meals with locally sourced and seasonal ingredients.

While the indoor and outdoor gathering spaces, cozy-yet-elevated interior design, and natural-light-filled apartments are all spectacular, it is the supportive, attentive, and individualized care that truly sets Care Center apart. The Heritage listens to each resident’s personal story and honors their achievements. Personal preferences are respected, and loved one’s individual needs are catered to, ensuring they are living life to the fullest.

On a recent resident engagement survey where all residents and family members were given a chance to provide feedback, the Care Center’s nursing and medical services had a 97% overall satisfaction rate, which is representative of the high level of care The Heritage strives for every day.

We welcome new residents directly into our Care Center — there’s no need to have lived in our independent living community first. We also offer respite care to support caregivers who need to travel or simply need to recharge.

Wellness at The Heritage

With a young-at-heart philosophy and a firm focus on living life to the fullest, The Heritage understands that true wellness is a combination of many factors, including personal fulfillment, a sense of purpose, true connections with other people and the world around us, physical health, and happiness.

Whether they live in the community’s independent living neighborhood or in the personal care or memory care neighborhoods in the Care Center, residents benefit from the innovative Well By Design(sm) program, which fosters eight different dimensions of wellness: social, physical, intellectual, emotional, vocational, spiritual, environmental, and health services.

Each month, our activities calendars are full of fun and interesting events, classes, outings, performances, parties, games, and volunteering opportunities that cultivate and boost one or more of these facets of wellness. The Heritage’s proactive approach to resident physical health includes medical screenings, regular exams, onsite clinical labs, medication management, rehabilitation, and physician services.

Our memory care neighborhood offers planned activities to help residents with dementia interact and create meaningful connections. Whether it’s playing a game of cards, watching a movie, or participating in a group music therapy session, spending time with other residents and staff members can boost quality of life, including both physical and mental health.

Respite Care

Seniors aren’t the only ones who benefit from memory care communities. Being the sole caregiver for someone with memory loss can be daunting and exhausting, especially as the disease progresses. When caregivers need to be away — or just need a break to recharge their batteries — respite care at The Heritage of Green Hills can help.

Families can rest confidently knowing that their aging parent’s needs are always met in a safe, secure environment. We offer a full calendar of activities; assistance with daily tasks such as dressing, bathing, and medication; and a friendly, relaxed community atmosphere.
